A Poem by Yiskah Rose
In a world where truth is remarkably rare;
Can we be persevering individuals standing for justice?
Can we take a stand for decisions that are fair?
What if we choose vitality and settled not for numbness?
What if all leaders were held to a high standard?
And only those could remain who would only do right?
What if all who would govern; their higher calling had answered?
Instead of leaders who oppress, as if their birthright.
Imagine if models of love and wisdom were those who took the lead;
Those of integrity, generosity and overabundant care;
Who neglected no person, to meet each and every need.
Would not this world of violence, the innocent thus spare?
If we would each take the time to search out who we truly are;
Stunning change we could pursue: finding health and vigor where once many a scar.
