We live in a world in which we have been encouraged to participate in a strange practice of labelling ourselves and each other according to extremes.
“Left-Brained” or “Right-Brained” / “Introverted” or “Extroverted” / “Funny” or “Serious” / “Artistic” or “Academic” / “Quiet” or “Talkative” / “Shy” or “Outgoing”.
What makes this practice particularly odd, is that we label ourselves and then see ourselves in a rigid position instead of the dynamic individual that we were actually born to be. Why would we want to do this?
The reality is, throughout our lives, we are actually always in a state of change and development – and all the more positively if we actually allow for this designed and important reality of life.
An obvious point is that we are all, in fact, born with both a right and a left brain – and the capacity to not only use both sides, but also to integrate them.
To rise above rigid labels for ourselves, we allow ourselves to flow with Yah’s direction and we can play a role in preventing ourselves from falling into a trap of rigidity and imbalance.
We can allow for change and development and can let go of the boxes that we may have made for ourselves or that others may have made for us. We can move beyond the programming of the world around us and rise above the supposed limitations that we may once have bought into.
The fact of the matter is, if we were born a human being, we all have the following needs:
- To dream and to think.
- To be alone and to be with others.
- To work and to rest.
- To speak and to be quiet.
- To receive and to share.
- To move and to sit.
- To connect with the earth and ponder the sky.
- To be with the Creator and to be with the ones He has created in His Likeness.
We may not all be the same; but we are, each of us, more than a collection of categories.
Seek the Creator. Seek wisdom. Seek balance. Seek real. Seek a beautiful and dynamic life, according to His perfect plan for you.
Born With Potential - Each One of Us. Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness'. - Gen. 1
