On day 2 of the creation, God created the atmosphere, which is the place of our dwelling. We walk upright and breathe the atmospheric air. We can run, dance jump and climb all within the wonderful environment of the atmosphere. Our dwelling place is between the waters.
With the separation between the waters on day 2, and the atmospheric expanse created at the same time, there are both the:
- Waters above the atmosphere – Which can symbolize the high and lofty: our connection to high things and grand Spiritual ideas, in addition to the Creator Himself.
- Waters upon the earth below – These waters can symbolize our additional need to be well grounded, being connected to the earth as well as the creation within the earth’s realm.
Our ideal and balanced place, according to Yah’s design is to dwell in the atmosphere – in the midst of both the exalted and the grounded things of the earth.
We were designed to be centered – to be neither spending our whole existence only ‘off in the clouds’, nor wrapped up purely in earthly concerns. In reality, we have been called to both of these things. The true people of Yah will live an exalted existence, as well as a life of serving and guarding the earth and the creation. YHVH has invited and called us to fly and to dig; to soar and to serve.
“And (Adam and Eve) heard the sound of YHVH Elohim walking in the garden, in the Spirit, in the day” (Gen 3:8). Even Yah, in the Spirit walked in the garden.
“Yah makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.” (Ps 104:3)
“But they that put their hope in YHVH shall renew their strength; they shall rise up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isa 40:31)
The people of Yah are in action – flying above and running upon the earth.
“Uzziah built towers in the desert. He dug many wells, for he had much livestock, both in the lowlands and in the plains; he also had husbandmen digging, and vinedressers in the mountains and in Carmel, for he loved the soil (the earth)...his fame spread far and wide, for he was marvelously helped till he became strong;” “As long as he sought YHVH, God made him prosper.” (2 Ch 26)
Yah will marvellously help and prosper His people in the height of the mountains above, and in their service to the soil; as we see here demonstrated in the life of Uzziah.
What a marvelous promise and calling from the God of all creation. Truly His loving-kindness endures forever. May His name be praised in all the earth.
To “He Who Was and Is and Always Will Be”.
To the One Who created us, called us and desires us – to be His family.
To the One Who created us of the dust of the earth,
and then breathed into us – His breath.
May we learn what it means to be truly like Him, in His image:
According to His ultimate design and the amazing gift of our potential.
